Elizabeth is the glue that holds the whole family together. Raising five sons really taught her how to balance the important things in life. Mom does all the farm books and records, the taxes, and helps with the labor on our 3,000 acre grain farm and 750 cow registered Angus operation. She helps with our two annual cattle production sales as well. She does all of this while caring for her 92 year old mother and elder sister that have many health related issues and challenges. Whether see is driving a tractor, feeding cows or caring for her family, Elizabeth is 100% all in for the job. Mom is very involved in the Farm Bureau Women's Committee. She was recently selected as Farm Bureau Woman of the Year in the Central District of Virginia and was a runner up on the Virginia Farm Woman of the year. She is very involved with helping 4-H, FFA and Ag in the Classroom. She has been instrumental in planning and hosting Farm Safety Day for children in conjunction with the Louisa Farm Bureau as well as livestock judging clinics and showmanship clinics on the family farm, Quaker Hill. Elizabeth has also annually volunteered for the Louisa County Ag and Dairy Day which is involves over 400 1st graders to expose them to agriculture and farming many for the first time. Elizabeth has planned Farm Transition Workshops to discuss wills and trusts and transferring farms to the next generation. Mom certainly doesn't let grass grow under her feet as she is always on the move for her family, her church, her farm and her community.
